The Teal Wand is the first and only FDA-authorized at-home self-collection device for cervical cancer screening. It uses the same Primary HPV test your doctor uses in the clinic — with equal accuracy — but you collect the sample yourself, from home. Clinical data from the SELF-CERV study, published in JAMA Network Open, shows it detects cervical precancer 96% of the time, matching in-office collection.  As of 2026, it's available nationwide for women ages 25–65 at average risk.

Right now, cost is $99 with in-network insurance, $249 without — and it's HSA/FSA eligible. That changes soon: starting January 1, 2027, most insurance plans will be required to cover this screening at no cost to you — no copay, no deductible, including follow-up testing if needed, per updated HRSA Women's Preventive Services Guidelines (Federal Register, January 5, 2026).
