Meet Emily

Christine "Emily" Depke
Nov. 18, 1982 - June 18, 2025
Emily was luminous — in her smile, her warm energy, her friendship, in the way she deeply cared for people. She was one of the good ones, truly, and I know everyone says that. But you don't know my Em.
To get respect, you give respect first, to all humans period. That's not just how she lived her life, it's who she was at her core. She was always rooting for you, always wanted to see you win too. She just wanted to be happy, and to bring happiness to everyone around her — and she did.
You know the world is cruel and unfair when the kindest and brightest get taken far too young, with too much life left to live. Emily was known for her kindness and her generosity. She'd find a way to help you, most times with no questions asked. She believed in the goodness of people.
We move forward because if Emily had survived, she would have done anything she could to save the next her — the next family from being annihilated emotionally, financially, and every other way this disease destroys the people it touches.
You can read Emily’s full obituary on her Tribute Wall at www.filbeckandcann.com.
"To know her, was to love her. She inspires us every day, to be better people, to always choose kindness, and to just keep going."

Our Guiding Light

These are a few of our favorites — Emily, just being Emily, most with that signature smile, alongside the people she loved most. The ones forever fighting in her name.
